• What is important about Okwe’s history as a doctor? How does this separate him from Senay and the other refugees/illegals?

• What is interesting about the fact that Okwe discovers a human heart in the toilet and not another organ, like a kidney which seems to be the main organ which is removed and sold? Why is it that the film just continues on after the discovery and does not elaborate on the heart?

• What connections can be drawn form the exploitation of the refugees/illegals/lower class in general and the illegal selling of organs on the black market?

• Why is it that the authorities are so concerned with a refugee who is trying to work (Senay), when there are clear atrocities happening all around them? What does this say about society’s priorities?

• Senay idealizes America and feels she must do anything to get there, but would life in America be so different form her current circumstances, or would she face the same societal barriers?

• Do you think that the film has a biased perspective of life in western society?
